D&C 18: 10-14
"Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God;
For, behold, the Lord your Redeemer suffered death in the flesh; wherefore he suffered the pain of all men, that all men might repent and come unto him.
And he hath risen again from the dead, that he might bring all men unto him, on conditions of repentance.
And how great is his joy in the soul that repenteth!
Wherefore, you are called to cry repentance unto this people."

SAAAAD story about the people in haiti. they just cant get a break! I hope that they'll really turn toward God because of it. not away from Him. We've been talking to a lot of agnostics and atheists lately and they all have something in common. They really don't believe that. They almost always believe there's something more. Some higher power. Usually it takes a little explaining and a little testifying of the Spirit and they change their minds. We talked for 45 minutes on the street with a guy who said he wanted to believe... We got his number and will hopefully be setting up with him. this is different from the others, because we poured our souls out. We dusted out the cobwebs and pulled everything we could thing of to help this man believe there was a God. And God was his Father. As missionaries, I heard that we are supposed to do everything short of overriding their agency to get them to accept the gospel.

We are being super blessed! We are teaching three investigating Families!!!! So so awesome!. Well... the dad of one, the mom of the other, and the mom of the third is coming. But that is just the first visit. The next one will be all families. Elder Call wants to be involved in bringing a family into the Church before he leaves, and the Lord in all his mercy is surely hearing his prayers. and mine. I feel closer to Heavenly Father now than I have in a little while so that's awesome. I just want to be perfect. You know me.

The language is, according to me, I'm not learning fast enough.... but according to experience, Ive had a couple entire conversations with Slovenes and my district leader Elder Duke said that he's been training for 6 months, and he said I speak very well. My problem is that I just need to speak UP and speak more.

Here's news about me.

WE FOUND AN APARTMENT!!!! AHH SUCH A BLESSING. It's an entire floor of a house. The lady below us is the best cook in the world ha and (except for you and grandma i had better add) and she cooks for other people just tons of deserts and stuff every Saturday. Hello fat Elder Sherman.. ha I made sure she knew I really liked her cooking. but ya. Its 70 meters sq about and has all the stuff you need.Brand new kitchen. Awesome. Super blessed. .... good shower too... I think. haha we haven't actually moved in yet, although that's on the agenda for today.

Family: and this is mostly for moms benefit too.
Im doing great! so so so good. We are being really blessed. We are super close
to finding an apartment... now we just need to decide which one we want. And we
have some goo oood potential investigators and a new golden investigator.

The work is going great! We have a new investigator named saša. She has 2 kids 8
and 10. We are hoping that they'll all be baptized, but they still have a long
way to go.

A spiritual story... so I recently learned that personality makes all the
difference. Its a serious message sure, and a happy one too. But we are people.
You have so much more success if people see you as real people. So I've been
incorporating personality into the work. Ooh and we talked to this lady who
totally committed to reading the book of Mormon and praying about it!
She basically promised but she didn't want to meet with us.
žalostno ne? (sad right) but super too. If you can have personality and teach by the spirit.
Awesome. Awesome. Every day I want to be better. Every day! and I'm improving. ha i forgot
yesterday that it was pday today I was proud of myself because that means
that I'm focused.

Ive really learned a lot about the Atonement. wow. We listen to talks and
devotionals every day almost.. at lunch dinner or before bed.I'm learning so
much. Its fantastic. Its not hard to be a better person. Just decide you love
the Lord more than you love the convenience of not changing.

My super goal this week is to be inconvenient. What I mean is to do the things
that are righteous but inconvenient. I think I've grown from just wanting to do
that and trying it.

We are seeing some good success here. The church is growing and God is leading
it.

As a missionary you are only ever happy when you're working your guts out. True
story. Days I don't work as hard, I'm not as happy. I'm falling in love with the work.

love you guys. tons. love your little Slovene.
Thanks for your prayers.

January 4, 2010- This week's letter

okay.... um...so funny story time.

one of our favorite things is this guy EVERY MORNING! he sneezes like clockwork.
This sneeze is so loud we cant tell if its coming from outside, six stories
below, or through a couple walls. you can hear it while in the shower! this guy
is like a rooster! hahaha hilarious. its our favorite thing every morning. its
like hes allergic to day time lol.ha its intense. lol funnnnny

we have a progressing investigator who speaks very little slovene, only serbian,
or croation which are really similar. so.... we have our lessons in croation
which elder call knows (i have a model missionary for my companion) but he hates
compliments because hes so humble.)) and her mom translates what we dont know
how to say. anyway she, in our opinion is sooooo close to baptism. so close. its
sweet.

we also have a lady and her husband we plan to start teaching. we talked to them
a couple weeks ago and the other day we ran into her and she yelled to us and
asked if we can baptize people lol! hahah missionary dream come true. lol. i
think she needs more understanding but thats awesome.

also two italians we contacted started laughing when we told them we have a
message about Jesus Christ. because.... maybe 6 seconds or 3 prior to that they
just said "we have to go out looking for Gods church, Hes not going to send it
out to us, we have to search.<(something like that.) to which elder call replied
"well, sometimes He does. we exchanged info and we will send it to the missionaries in trieste.
the sole explanation for that event was a miracle.

January 4, 2010 - letter from last week

Hey fam! gooooo oooooood morning.

i love that they make clothes for skinny people here! everzthing in america is
made to fit bigger people but here its all about being skinny. anyway...
we got some sweet potential investigators... these two guys that we are
teaching the first lesson to on tuesday.... I thought they wouldnt be
interested but since I have the best companion ever he decided to contact them.

one of my favorite things to do is be on the ball! i love it. my comp suggested
i work on knowing the time and schedule a little better and i have and its been
awesome. I am so grateful for him. We just finished weekly planning which
took.... hahah almost a week.. lol. we will probably ahve to shorten that up a
bit lol but its one of my favorite things to do. I love setting goals and
planning how to acheive them throughout the week.

now our biggest challenge is getting people who are interested in meeting us
again, to still be interested a couple days later. I have a couple Ideas, but I
wanted to see what my awesome family thought... any ideas? maybe derrik or
brandon would know. theyre recent returned missionaries.

ohh.. one more thing. we talked to a couple athiests, its way sad how heavenly
father must feel to know his children dont believe he exists. thats even more
reason for us to never doubt! its like doubting we exist... dont think about
that too hard. but seriously. its so obviously true. If we exist, then He does.
If we love, then He loves us. and if He loves us. He is watching and
communicating to us Always. we just need to listen. I know it. I know because Im
listening. its a good good feeling to listen. Im grateful that He has taught me
how. in the name of Jesus Christ. amen.

Just getting Started

So Cam has been out in the Mission field for a little while now and he is loving it! He's been gone for what, 3 months now? I know, it's crazy. I'm working on getting parts of his emails posted so that you guys can know what he's up to. :) thanks for the support.
